SAR Launches New Virtual Office to File and Pay Taxes in Ten Minutes
Starting June 3, this new system will replace the current one, including the migration of 99% of existing data and the ongoing update and security of information.
On May 14, the Revenue Administration Service (SAR) announced the launch of its new Virtual Office, designed to simplify and improve the taxpayer experience in filing, presenting, and paying taxes. Starting June 3, this new system will replace the current one, including the migration of 99% of existing data and the ongoing update and security of information.
In September, the new Virtual Office will incorporate digital signatures, allowing all tax procedures to be completed without the need to visit SAR offices. This development has been made possible by a $27,000,000 loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), aimed at the administrative and operational restructuring of the SAR.
The system includes the implementation of SIISAR, developed by the company Gestión Tributaria Territorial (GTT), with a $12,000,000 contract. GTT, with experience in managing tax systems in Spain and Latin America, will bring its expertise to store and manage all taxpayer information.
Minister Christian Duarte highlighted that the new Virtual Office represents a decisive step in facilitating tax access and payment, reducing complexity and associated costs. IDB representatives emphasized the importance of this collaboration in modernizing tax services, with a citizen-centered approach. This project also includes the review and redesign of tax processes and the strengthening of human talent in the SAR, with the potential to positively impact Honduras's economy.
The GTT team expressed their satisfaction in contributing to strengthening fiscal collection and improving tax services in Honduras.
This innovation will not only provide the Honduran population with one of the most modern and efficient tax services in Latin America but also facilitate tax payments for everyone, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of the tax system.
