Business between Honduras and China
New opportunities for cooperation between companies from Honduras and China"
In an atmosphere of brotherhood and optimism, the Business Meeting and Signing Ceremony between Companies from China and Honduras took place today, Friday, in Tegucigalpa. During the event, relations were deepened with the signing of four (4) purchase and sale agreements between companies from the Asian giant and Honduran exporters. These agreements, valued at 18 million dollars, along with discussions among more than 100 entrepreneurs from both countries, bring new opportunities for commercial cooperation, as highlighted by participants in the meeting.
Fredis Alonso Cerrato Valladares, Secretary of State in the Office of Economic Development of the Honduran Secretariat of Economic Development, praised and supported such business meetings, noting that these activities "help intensify trade flows based on mutually beneficial opportunities." He also expressed his satisfaction that agreements were signed on this day between Chinese and Honduran companies in the coffee and palm oil sectors, which "is clear evidence of the potential for business that mutually benefits us."
According to the Honduran Secretary, coffee, as the flagship product of trade between Honduras and China, has been exported to the Asian country with a value of 11.1 million dollars so far this year. He added that by June 2024, Honduras' general merchandise exports to China have nearly sextupled compared to the same period last year.
Yu Bo, China's ambassador to Honduras, stated during the ceremony that China is willing to work with Honduras to raise the level of economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries and will provide the necessary facilities to do so. He emphasized that China’s greater openness will open new prospects for bilateral cooperation. The Chinese side welcomed Honduran companies to participate in the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) and other major exhibitions in China.
